Familiarity breeds contempt. Regardless of how enthusiastic you are about your first day on the job, regardless of how much you love your profession, there will come a time when the monotony catches up to you and you feel your passion for life decline.

It's important that you are aware of this, and it's important to that you accept this phenomenon as a normal event. In most cases, however, all it takes to rekindle your passion is an attitude adjustment. Here are some examples of such adjustments and how they can contribute to improving your general sentiment about life.

1. Improve your passion for life by living with gratitude

Happiness is a complex human emotion. The things that make some of us happy are the exact same things that cause depression in others. Owning a cheap car is a curse for those who aspire for a luxury car, but is a blessing for those who've never had one. It all boils down to expectation.

Make the attitude adjustment of being grateful and you will rekindle your passion. Whenever you feel dissatisfied about your situation, remind yourself of the fact that some every day you live is already something you should be grateful for and you should make the most out of it by living passionately.

2. An attitude of creativity can rekindle your passion for life

Human beings have an inherent desire to create and innovate. Ingenuity is a part of human nature. Unfortunately, most people never get a venue to express that part of the self. This absence of such a venue may cause feelings of boredom and inertia.

In order to energize your passion, make the attitude adjustment of making it a point to be more creative. Try thinking outside the box and looking at things from multiple perspectives. A fresh take on an old job can spell the difference between inspiration and depression.

3. Increase your passion for life with an attitude of generosity

Selfishness is a negative value that dampens even the highest of spirits. When you live with selfishness, you deal with feelings of guilt daily. You often feel isolated and separated from society. Once you get what you need, you're no longer inspired to work as hard. Make an attitude adjustment and try being more generous. Give to those in need and find fulfillment in the joy of others. Doing so might help you find a new sense of purpose.

4. Develop an attitude of awareness to rekindle your passion for life

Those who live with a purpose always have something to be passionate about. If you're not passionate about life, maybe you don't know a lot about it. Make the attitude adjustment of becoming more socially aware.

You might find a social cause you feel passionate about. Aren't you worried about global warming? Don't you want to defend your right to free speech? Don't you want to help people in need? Learning about important social issues can spark your innate desire to make a positive impact in society.

5. An attitude of pride can ignite your passion for life

Why do some of the wealthiest people in the world continue to have 10-hour work days when they can afford to stay at home or go on permanent vacations? They do it because they take pride in what they do. If you want to be passionate about life, make that attitude adjustment and develop a sense of pride. As long as you're proud of what you do, you'll never stop being passionate about it.

Whether we see life as boring, exciting, difficult or easy is a matter of attitude. At the end of the day, life is a blank canvas. We make of it what we want. It bends to our will. We have the power to change our own lives. Your passion for life will determine how much fulfillment you derive from it. If you don't feel fulfilled in what you're doing or how you're spending your life, then it's time to make an attitude adjustment and find something to be passionate about.
