Setting goals is what every procrastinator hates because it compels you to actually get off your butt and do something. It may seem crazy, but having set goals really works. My guess is that you probably already know this.
What I am going to go into is how to set goals that will work and can be achieved. There are a few simple steps needed to reach your goals as fast as possible.
First, you must set goals that can be accomplished! The biggest problem that most of us make is we set goals that are just about impossible to accomplished. If you have never made any money in any online business, then most likely you will not make $10,000 in your first couple of months. It does not matter what the gurus tell you.
If you made $5,000 last month in your business and you set a goal to double it in the next couple of months, then that is probably a goal than can be achieved. One thing to do is add up all your monthly bills, which is for most people probably $2,000 to $3,000 a month. A good reachable goal would be to set a goal to make enough to cover these expenses in the next 2 to 4 months.
Second, you must put your goal in writing every day. Write them down on paper every day. If not every day at least 3 to 4 times a week. This will help to keep you focused on your goal. When you write your goals do it in the first person. Example: Do not write "I want to make $1000 a month.", but write: "I am earning $1,000 a month on January 1st."(or what ever date you chose).
Write your goals like you have all ready have achieved them. This helps you to reach them faster. As an example, if you want say to have $5000 in savings. Then write: "I have $5.000 in my savings account.", Not "I want to have $5,000 in my savings account." If for example, you want to start walking a couple miles a day, then write: "I enjoy walking 2 miles a day." as opposed to: "I want to walk 2 miles a day".
Third, everyday you must read, study and focus on your goals first thing in morning and in the evening before you go to bed. These are the best time of the day for you to really focus on your goals. In the morning it will get you thinking about them. In the evening when you go to bed your subconscious will be working on them. When you read your goals imagine that you already have succeeded at achieving them.
See your self driving that new car, smelling that new car smell. Imagine how good it feels getting that bank statement that shows a balance of $5,000, or $10,000 or more. Focus on how good it feels already having what you had set for your goals. Focusing on your goals this way will help you get to your results much more quickly than just writing them down and hoping you will accomplish them.
Fourth you need to be happy and grateful as if you all ready have received that which you were striving for. I already alluded to this earlier when I said to "imagine yourself in a new car". Go ahead and imagine now. How does it make you feel? No doubt it makes you happy when you see yourself with the thing that you desire. Remember this feeling of happiness and gratefulness.
Do your best to feel this on a daily basis. If you want to take this to another level. You can even write the following phrase at the start of each your goals: "I am so happy and grateful that ...", then fill in the rest with your goal.
If you really want to be successful at achieving your goals, then you will want take this all to heart. Do all these steps and do them on a daily basis. As with everything you do in life, you will not see any results unless you do it on a consistent basis. Goal setting is a vital part of you achieving the success you deserve and desire. But you must do it right if you want it to work for you. Do not procrastinate!
