Designing Your Masterpiece
In order to start working towards the vision of what you want your life masterpiece to be, you need to first define a Vision Statement for yourself. Thoroughly examine your life through the 6 Keys. Do not get distracted by what is practical or what your current reality is, dare to dream big! You are creating a masterpiece, so remove the limits you normally have for yourself.
Thoughts and Self-Talk
What do you want your thoughts and self-talk to be in one year? Would you like to speak more kindly to yourself? Would you like to have stronger thoughts and self-talk? Have self-talk that is more motivational and encouraging?
Example: My thoughts and self-talk will be kind and encouraging.
How do you want your emotional state to be in one year? Is there a particular emotion you would like to manage more effectively? Do you struggle with recurrent negative emotions that you would like to eliminate?
Example: I will no longer struggle with chronic depression.
What do you want the spoken words you hear and speak to be like in one year? Do you want to refuse to let negative ones in? Would you like to be more kind when speaking to others? Perhaps you would like to speak your needs more?
Example: I will speak my needs and hear the needs of others without negativity.
How do you want your actions to be in one year? Do you want to counter negative feelings with "acting happy"? Will you choose actions that support the goals in your vision statement?
Example: I will dance exuberantly when I feel sad or angry.
What do you want your physical environment to be in one year? Would you like to redecorate your house? Keep a tidier home environment? Move to a new city or state? Do you need to de-clutter and simplify in your physical environment?
Example: My home will be free of clutter and repainted in new, warm colors.
What do you want your relationships to be in one year? Is there a particular relationship you would like to focus on? Do you wish to have closer, deeper friendships? More friendships? A larger, and more supportive, community of relationships?
Example: My circle of friends includes only supportive people who cherish me.
Now form your master Vision Statement by simply combining all these statements. Keep your Vision Statement within easy reach by peppering your home, car, work space, purse, etc. This master statement should guide your daily life - everything you do, say, feel, think, and choose should be with your masterpiece in mind. You designed this masterpiece, now live it!
Example: My thoughts and self-talk will be kind and encouraging. I will no longer struggle with chronic depression. I will speak my needs, and hear the needs of others, without negativity. I will dance exuberantly when I feel sad or angry. My home will be free of clutter and will be repainted in new, warm colors. My circle of friends includes only supportive people who cherish me.
